Civilians Get Recognized for Heroic Actions
On Tuesday, June 14, 2011 Pascack Valley PBA Local 206 honored several local residents with the Civilian Award recognizing them for heroic acts that offered a significant contribution to public safety or demonstrated exceptional police support and cooperation.  Below are several of the honorees pictured with outgoing Local 206 President A.J. PBA Local 206 Swears in a New President and Three New Members


At the regular business meeting of PBA Local 206 on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 President A.J. Pecora swore in his successor, Bridget Greve of the Woodcliff Lake Police Department.  Greve takes over after serving as Pecora's Vice-President for two years.  President Pecora also had the honor of swearing in three new members of his own department, Washington Township, as one of his last actions in office.

Sgt. Pete Mauro of the Park Ridge Police Department will be
representing Pascack Valley PBA Local 206 in the 2011 Police Unity
Tour. The purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of Law
Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty, and to raise
funds for the National Law Enforcment Officer's Memorial and Museum.

PBA Local 206 Dinner Dance a Success 

     On February 12, 2011, Pascack Valley PBA Local 206 held its 4th Annual Friends and Family Dinner Dance at Season's in Washington Township. Pascack Valley’s finest were joined by nearly 250 fellow Police Officers, friends and family members.  John DeVoe, a Detective Sergeant with the River Vale Police Department, is the Chairman of the Dinner Dance. Along with Kevin Smith of the Oradell Police Department and Jason Rothenburger of the Old Tappan Police Department, DeVoe setout to create a night for his colleagues to network and foster a sense of camaraderie with their peers.
     “This event is held in tribute to the brave men and women who professionally and humbly serve our communities throughout the year,” said DeVoe.

PBA Local 206 Supports One of Their Own for Sheriff
PBA Local 206 joins the ranks of the Bergen County PBA Conference by officially endorsing Michael Saudino for Bergen County Sheriff.  Saudino has been a member of PBA 206 since 1973, served as President of the local for two years and State Delegate for 15 years.  He has also served as an officer for the New Jersey State PBA and the Bergen County Conference.  For more information visit www.Saudino2010.com.


 



2010 Special Olympics Torch Run a Success
Police officers from many Pascack Valley departments participated in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The funds raised by the runners go directly to support the games that were held June 11 to 13 at The College of New Jersey, Ewing. Hundreds of athletes from every county in the state participated in this year’s games. This photo was taken as the run proceeded through Park Ridge and includes several PBA 206 representatives.





PBA holds dinner dance

The Pascack Valley PBA Local 206 held its third annual Friends and Family Dinner Dance at Seasons in the Township of Washington on Friday, Feb. 12.
River Vale Det./Sgt. John DeVoe chaired the event. Oradell Police Officer Kevin Smith and Old Tappan Police Officer Jason Rothenburger assisted DeVoe with organizing the event, which is designed to foster a sense of camaraderie amongst local police officers.
